Ashbourne - Year 5

'We are inextricably linked by the common thread of humanity.

If we break it we are all undone.'

This is our theme for the week away in Ashbourne with our Year 5 children.

We split the week into two so each class has a 2night/3 day experience and we all meet up on Wednesday to climb Thorpe Cloud.

It is residential full of activities, experiences and opportunities to create and share memories together in the children's last few weeks in Year 5.

We explore take a ride on the cable cars to the Heights of Abraham where we go cave exploring; dine out at the fish and chip shop in Ashbourne; have a full-English breakfast out in Ashbourne; go raft-building and sailing at Carsington Water; go panning for gems at the Stone Centre in Wirksworth; go 'outdoor swimming'; climb up Thorpe Cloud and paddle in the river at Dovedale.

In all of these activities and through our thinking time each day, we will explore the theme of how we are all linked and what that means for us in our lives as this group of children all move into Year 6 together and how they can make the most of their final year at KWS.
