Phonics and Early Reading in Year One

In Year children receive a language rich curriculum, full of high-quality stories, poems, songs and rhymes along with the use of non-fiction texts. Children are taught to read through a systematic approach to phonics, reading, a love of books and opportunities to practise at home.
