You will have all heard the sad news that Queen Elizabeth II has passed away today at her home in Balmoral at the age of 96. This is such a significant, poignant and symbolic moment - a part of our lifetime that will be one of the most historical events that will be spoken about, written about, read about and taught to future generations for years and years to come.
In school tomorrow, we will be marking the Queen's 70 years as our monarch, celebrating her life and long reign, and discussing the sad news of her death. We will be meeting together for a special whole school assembly and teachers will also spend time with their class discussing this at an age-appropriate level.
We will also be sharing some special news with the children about a very important letter from Balmoral castle that we have had delivered this week to school addressed to the children - watch this space!

The boys' football team played Orchard and came out 1-0 winners this evening. The boys were on the wrong end of a hefty scoreline when the two sides met earlier in the year. This was Orchard's first 'non-win' of the season and the KWS boys were worthy winners. As ever, we are all incredibly proud of them.

Red Nose Day is Friday 18th March – Mrs Martin has already sent out the flyer to explain that the theme for the day is ‘Superheroes’. We are asking children and staff to dress up as a superhero for the day. A superhero can be anything from a book, TV show, cartoon, real-life superhero or as ‘you’ and your very own unique superhero self. We look forward to seeing everyone’s ideas.
