Day One

Activity: On the worksheet, there are four maps. Two maps of Kirkby Woodhouse and two maps of Nottingham city centre.

We are going to investigate how both places have changed over the years (from the Victorian times to today!). For each set of maps do the following:

Choose three different colours. Use one colour to highlight features on both maps that are the same. Use another colour to highlight features that have disappeared on the older map (things that no longer exist) and use another colour to highlight features that have appeared on the modern map (things that didn't used to exist on the older map).

Look at:

 - the different types of buildings e.g. churches, schools, prisons, trains stations, pubs

- the roads

- the open spaces

If you cannot print off the worksheets - do not worry! Simply, write down features you can see on both maps, features you can only see on the older map and features you can only see on the modern map.

Remember you can zoom in on the maps when you open up the documents to get a better look at the features!
